AlNiCo Magnets
GTEK AlNiCo Magnets
Introduction
Alnico magnets are best known for their bright red colour and familiar shapes like the horseshoe magnets and bar magnets.
Alnico is a permanent magnet material that was first developed. It is an alloy composed of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron and other trace metal elements.
According to different production processes, it is divided into sintered Alnico and cast Alnico. They are mianly produced into round or square shape.
Features of AlNiCo Magnets
Although Alnico Magnet is the oldest type of magnetic steel (is called natural magnet), its excellent adaptability to high temperature makes it still one of the most important magnetic steels.
Among all permanent magnet materials, cast Alnico magnets have the lowest reversible temperature coefficient, and the working temperature can be as high as 600 ℃ or more, which is its biggest feature. In addition, its corrosion resistance is also stronger than other magnets.
Applications of Alnico Magnets
Alnico Permanent Magnet products are widely used in various instruments and application fields.
Such as: motors, electric guitar pickups, microphones, sensors, speakers, traveling wave tubes, cow magnets, etc.
Custom AlNiCo Magnets
Alnico magnets are usually made into strips, cylinders, horseshoes, pots, blocks.
GTEK can produce products according to the drawings provided by the customers, welcome to contact us for a customized service.
For the AlNiCo magnets of conventional shapes, we can control the tolerance within +/- 0.05mm. If you have special requirements for dimensions and tolerances, we will try our best to meet them.
Cast AlNiCo vs Sintered AlNiCo
Cast AlNiCo is an alloy composed of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, copper, iron and other trace elements (for example: titanium, silicon). Cast Alnico is the most versatile material in existence. The performance range can be designed for special applications through elemental analysis and heat treatment.
Cast AlNiCo has good thermal stability, strong corrosion resistance, and a maximum operating temperature of up to 550 ° C, making it used in many fields. Curie temperature can reach 860 ℃, can be painted. Various complex shapes and sizes can be processed within a very economical cost range. High magnetic flux value. Low temperature coefficient: The temperature coefficient of remanence (Br) is: -0.02 ~ -0.03% / ° C.
The intrinsic coercive force is very low (usually less than 160kA / m), and the demagnetization curve is nonlinear. Therefore, Cast Alnico magnets are easily magnetized and demagnetized.
Sintered AlNiCo products are made by powder metallurgy process and can be sintered into very small shapes. It has better anti-demagnetization performance, the maximum working temperature is as same as cast AlNiCo, this advantage makes it used in many fields. The Curie temperature can also reach 860 ℃. Lower temperature coefficient: The temperature coefficient of residual magnetization (Br) is: -0.016 ~ -0.02 / ° C. GTEK can produce all kinds of products with complex shapes and sizes.
The magnetic properties of sintered AlNiCo are slightly lower than cast AlNiCo.
We can produce Sintered AlNiCo magnets with various properties, including Isotropic AlNiCo2, Anisotropic AlNiCo5, AlNiCo8, AlNiCo8HC, etc.
MMPA Class
Alnico Magnets are traditionally classified using numbers assigned by the Magnetic Materials Producers Association (MMPA).
GTEK offers both Cast Alnico and Sintered Alnico of all classes, including: Alnico1, Alnico2, Alnico3, Alnico5, Alnico5DG, Alnico5-7, Alnico6, Alnico8, Alnico8HC and Alnico9.
